![]() ![]() Affinity Photo costs 50 and Pixelmator Pro costs 39.99. There isn’t much price difference either. Neither provides tethered shooting or image management tools. ![]() But there are lots of great improvements to the vectors tools that we could add and we plan to do so! For now, that's probably more important than being able to open certain vector formats. Also, they provide tools for graphic design so you don’t need another program to add text, paint over photos, and create collages. Combinations of effects result in a preset. Pixelmator Pro comes with 60 default effects, which you can modify and mix. You can use it to make local adjustments because it provides advanced selection tools and many retouching brushes. What's the point of opening complex vector files if you don't support the features within them?Īlthough it does have a set of powerful vector tools, Pixelmator Pro is mainly a raster editor so it probably won't ever have all the features that vector editors do. Pixelmator Pro also has advanced color adjustments such as curves, levels, color balance, and channel mixer. But the biggest roadblock is that we need to keep working on our vector tools themselves to even make supporting these formats worthwhile. If you are coming from another image editor, youll have to push yourself to learn Pixelmator as the interface is different (but not. Like Classic, it has everything you need for photography, graphic design, and painting. Seriously, this software can do 95 of what the highest end image editors can do, and the developers have added new features on a regular basis. This is the company’s upgrade to Pixelmator Classic and is only available for the Mac. EPS is also a proprietary format, but it is publicly documented so, in theory, eventually adding support for it is more within the realms of possibility. Pixelmator Pro gave us that and a lot more for a very low price. AI is a proprietary document format, so supporting it fully is impossible and while supporting it partially is possible, it would be a very big project and most people wouldn't be suprt happy with partial support. We aren't currently working on a Vectormator app although we are working on improving the vector tools in Pixelmator Pro. I really appreciate how Pixelmator is developed but is there any sense in making vectormator if we are not able to export vector files? Can anyone explain it to me? ![]()
